Country House Rescue - Elmore Court, Gloucestershire
Part 2 of 6

9pm to 10pm
Channel 4
Elmore Court is a grade II listed mansion, located in Elmore, Gloucestershire. It's the centrepiece of an estate valued at some £25million, which includes 1,600 acres of land, 6 farms and 16 tenanted cottages.
The house has been the family seat of the Guise Baronets for nearly 800 years. The current owner, 37 year-old dance DJ Anselm Guise, inherited the estate (but sadly with no money) from his uncle Sir John Guise in 2007. Sir John had often disapproved of his nephew's lifestyle, but gave him the house rather than leaving it to Anselm's father (who did get the Baronetcy) to avoid the risk of death duties.
Now Anselm's laid-back approach has led to the property's slow deterioration. Behind the beautiful façade, whole wings are crumbling. The bedrooms and bathrooms are from a bygone era and the disused rooms are crammed with junk. It costs forty thousand pounds a year just to pay the basic bills here, and there’s no money to repair anything. so Ruth must inspire a sense of determination in the owner to save the mansion from falling even further into disrepair.
